A lot of attention
It was obviously a family affair, meaning A is guaranteed a lot of attention.
We stayed, together with A's grandparents and aunt and uncle, at the local Travelodge the night before.
Travelodges don't have a restaurant, so in the morning, we drove to the local motorway service station for breakfast (you can always depend on motorway services for a good fatty English fry-up).
On the way out, they had those kiddie rides that cost 50p.
A had never been in one before.
All six adults stood around goofily, blocking the entrance to the service station and thoroughly enjoyed watching her 'drive' it.
We must have made quite a spectacle - we all sound like the crazed fans who follow celebrities around in their cars.
