Jagshemash!!!

We just went to see Borat at the cinema.

It was brilliant. It was also an interesting experience to see a film made by a British comedian about America, in a sold-out cinema full of Americans.

There's a stereotype that Americans don't have much of a sense of humour about their own country.

You might also assume that a people more politically correct, conservative about nudity, and scrupulous about being polite and friendly than the British, might loathe this gratuitously offensive film.

But the audience were completely cracking up.

It's easy to acquire a simplistic picture of Americans when you're in Europe - but if there's one thing we learnt very quickly, it was that we needed to lose that picture.
