Entertaining

We hosted a dinner party for eight people tonight, something we haven't attempted since being back in the UK.

The menu was:

- Halloumi with lime and capers vinaigrette (Delia Smith)
- Thai fish curry with mango (Delia Smith)
- Jamaican Me Crazy sorbet (Ben and Jerry)

It was pretty chaotic for S today, trying to clean the house and prepare all the food while simultaneously looking after the two ladies.

It didn't help to find that our two spare chairs were covered in paint, and the table was covered in crayon.

Then L became inexplicably most upset from 4pm and wanted to be held non-stop, which made slicing halloumi and mangoes rather tricky.

So B was greeted with enormous enthusiasm when he walked through the door at 5pm.

Anyway it was all worth the effort to have a lovely evening with some of our oldest friends and a couple of new ones as well.
