Advent acceleration
We are barely coping with the pace.... we can't cut it anymore, now we're in our thirties....

Friday night some friends from our new church came round to very kindly babysit, and we went out to see The Golden Compass, which we thoroughly enjoyed, being fans of the books. (Although we've since found out it flopped badly in the States).
Saturday morning, S had an early Christmas present from B - a blissful 90-minute maternity massage at Harrods 'Urban Retreat' spa, followed by a lovely lunch with her friend Hannah.
It was interesting sitting in the spa waiting area (S is always very early for things - when B is not involved).
The dress code appeared to be: minor Eastern European aristocracy.
Anyway this particular massage was quite special.
Hydrotherm massage was originally designed for people with mobility problems but it has become very popular.
It involves lying face-up on pillows full of warm water, which support your weight beautifully. There is no need to change position, because it's so comfortable, and because the masseuse can reach your back, shoulders etc while you're lying face-up .
After a while, you simply feel like you are weightless - a rather novel sensation for the heavily pregnant.
It was extremely relaxing, and S actually fell asleep.
Unfortunately, when she awoke, it was to find that that masseuse has done a scalp massage with liberal amounts of oil, and S now looked like Neil from the Young Ones.

The plan HAD been for B to collect S from Harrods (we were going to our sister-in-law's 30th birthday party) but instead S had to dash home first for a shower.
However we made it to the party on time, and got home at about 1 am.
After church this morning, we then went shopping to get our Christmas tree.
After failing to find any trees at B&Q, Tesco's, or the Bermondsey Market, we eventually we found a small flower stand, run by a real Cockney geezer. It had a few trees left.
B (pointing): What kind of tree is that?
Florist: A Christmas tree, mate.
We got it home and then had a lot of fun with A and the Christmas decorations.
