This weekend, S left A with her parents in Wales, and ventured forth for her first 'night off' since A was born.
The occasion was the wedding of an old friend from Queens', at beautiful and rather posh English boys' school, Charterhouse, in Godalming.
S didn't take a camera as it wouldn't fit into her new £8 handbag from Marks and Spencer's. We will post some photos if emailed any!
But suffice it to say the wedding was just wonderful.
The bride, who has an hour-glass figure, had been virtually stitched on the day into her ivory satin fishtail dress, which was curvaceously boned from bust to knee, making her look as stunning as a svelte Marilyn Monroe.
The ceremony was simple and touching; the weather was perfect.
Many of S's old friends from Queens' were there, several with new babies and husbands in tow, and while hugely enjoying talking to everyone, S felt intense and bittersweet nostalgia all the way through.

After the dancing ended, we all walked to the carpark barefoot under the stars, weaving and laughing through pitch-black country lanes.
It was like getting dipped temporarily into the past.
S, being pregnant, had eaten the most, but drank the least, and was therefore requested to drive - despite not having driven for 10 years on British roads.
It seemed a magical night where nothing would go wrong, so S took the helm of a Mini and actually got everyone back to their hotel safely.
Everyone was very affectionate and keen to know the exact date of our return.
It was lovely.

"The bride, who has an hour-glass figure ....curvaceously boned from bust to knee ...." A post in the style of Tatler magazine society pages ... Sarah you are a goddess!
Charterhouse school is a very lovely place! My cousin went there as a schoolboy and we used to pick him up at weekends and bring him home for sunday lunch.
Very nice place to have a wedding I'm sure.
