Costco addiction

We made our regular trip to Costco today.

Costco is a wholesale retailer.

It's exactly like the cavernous warehouse where the Ark of the Covenant is hidden at the end of the Indiana Jones movie.

The shopping experience is not what you'd call aesthetically pleasing.

But, we have ended up addicted - like the rest of the States.

Costco is the seventh-largest retailer in the world. The company has nearly 48 million members that that are slavishly devoted (averaging 22 trips per year), and surprisingly affluent (more than a third have household incomes over $75,000).

You can buy literally EVERYTHING, from food to furniture, from baby strollers to TVs, from coffins to diamond engagement rings - and whatever you buy, you feel guilt-free, because you know it's a bargain.

In fact it's the only shop where, before we go, S has to write a list of things we will NOT buy.
