Thanksgiving dinner

We had a great Thanksgiving dinner, for the second year running, at the home of A's godparents' parents. There were about 17 people there, which necessitated 2 turkeys! with sweet potato mash, tiny onions in a creamy sauce, and cranberry-and-strawberry sauce on the side.

This was then followed by no less than 5 very American desserts: pumpkin pie, pecan pie, key lime pie, apple pie and pumpkin whoopee pie. (Yes, that's really what it's called.)

It was an epicurean extravaganza, and we had a lovely time. There's something very nice about being invited into someone's family home, when you are so far away from yours.

Meanwhile, while all the gorging was going on, A enjoyed meeting someone a bit more on her level.
