Night feeds

There's an assumption that everyone wants to get night-feeds out of the way as quickly as possible.

But S knows now that although night-feeds are hard, they are also very special: just you and your baby, while the rest of the world (including Daddy) is asleep.

S particularly looks forward to the 6.30am feed.

S gets a coffee and settles down on the living room sofa with little L.

Over the next 30 minutes, in complete peace and quiet, we watch the dawn come up over the Thames.

There is hardly anyone about. The combination of slowly changing sunlight and the night-lights of the streets and apartments opposite on the water is stunningly beautiful.

We are really going to miss this view....
